FAQ's
- Can anyone take my yearbook portrait?
-
- No, your yearbook portrait must be taken by our studio. In order to maintain consistency with lighting and background, PAHS, MCHS and their respective yearbook staff selects a photographer to photograph yearbook portraits.
- Do I need to call and schedule an appointment at the high school?
-
- No. You do not have to call to schedule an appointment at the high school. You can schedule your appointment by using the respective links above.
Please do not call the school!
- Why do my portraits need to be taken in the summer?
-
- You need to be photographed in the summer months because of yearbook publishing deadlines.
- What if I can’t make it on the scheduled days at the high school?
-
- We understand that summer is a busy time for vacations. If you can’t make your scheduled time, you will automatically be scheduled by the yearbook staff for a FREE make up day session in the fall.
- This date will be determined after school starts.
- Can I go to another photographer for my personal portraits?
-
- You may go to any photographer for your personal photographs.
- We would love the opportunity to work with you, but you are not obligated to come to us for your personal photographs.
- What if I decide later that I want to have a more elaborate session at your studio?
-
- We get asked this all the time. If you come to the high school for your yearbook portrait, you still have the option to come to us for a 'Fun Session'.
- What about my hair?
-
- Make sure your hair is exactly like you want it. We do not offer re-shoots for bad hair days. Don't get your hair cut the day before your session, and remember to bring styling products to keep any long hair out of your eyes. Bangs that hang in front of your face cause unflattering shadows. Doing hair and make up at the school will take away from your session. Come prepared. We will have a mirror available.
- What should I wear?
-
- Thin, form-fitting shirts show every contour.
- Sleeveless tops will make you look heavier, and horizontal stripes are always a bad idea.
- Solid dark colors work best. It's more flattering when you see your face first while your portrait.
- This is a head and shoulder photograph. Full outfits are not necessary.
- No T-Shirts.
- No Hats
- What about blemishes?
-
- Don't worry about them. We have them covered.
- What about glass glare?
-
- We have you taken care. We will photograph you in a way that eliminates or minimizes any reflection. If there is any remaining glare we can't take care of through creative lighting, we will remove it in post production.
